Pasture Degradation and Recovery in Australia's Rangelands

This 256 page report describes eight historical degradation episodes in regions of Australia's rangelands. The report documents in detail the climate and economic forces that led to these degradation episodes and subsequent partial recoveries that occurred.

From this historical analysis, the report proposes a general cycle of rangeland degradation and recovery, which now provides the basis for understanding and monitoring the risk of another degradation episode.

Southern Oscillation Index (SOI) data, graphs, reports. Future rainfall probability maps based on 'phases of the SOI'. Sea-surface Temperature (SST) maps. 	Climate Change in Queensland
Every Queenslander has a role to play in minimising climate change and adapting for the future. One way the Queensland Government has specifically responded to the challenges of climate change is through creation of the Office of Climate Change (OCC). The OCC web site holds some key publications. There are also a number of climate change reports on The Long Paddock web site.
