The Veterinary Surgeons Board of Queensland (VSBQ) Code of professional conduct sets out the professional standards registered veterinarians are expected to meet by the:
- public
- profession at large
- VSBQ.
Underpinned by the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1936 (the Act), the principles of the code define expectations of veterinary surgeons in any area of veterinary practice, supporting them to deliver quality professional services and maintain public trust in the profession under key areas:
- animal health and welfare
- clients
- the profession
- veterinarians and the public.
The code should be read in conjunction with:
- Veterinary Surgeons Act 1936
- Veterinary Surgeons Regulation 2016
- VSBQ policies and guidelines and related legislation.
